Aching - The weather is changing dramatically and i'm so freaking achy. It will pass.

Snow Winter is finally here - maybe for longer than one day? Looking foward to waking up in the morning to snow globe world.

Sometimes you make spelling mistakes and have to hide it with something out of the ordinary, ordinary!

Snow arrives.

The background of the page is one black curved column on the right hand side and black circles like snowflakes covering the left hand side.

9 Jan 2026 - Day 96 - 6 Steps

It's not getting easier as fast as I thought. It's a fucking struggle every day. I'm fighting the discomfort. I'm not letting the struggle consume me. Shifting the mindset to combat the struggle.

4+" of Snow - it was exciting waking up to snow globe world

STRUGGLE

10 Jan 2026 - Day 97

10 Jan 2026 - Day 97 - 0 Steps

-8.3 degrees Coldest day since 1/21/2025. Wasn't supposed to be - temps. Brrrr. Back is all stiff and creaky, we are both creaky. Enjoying all the creative exercises we've been doing in GUT.

A mirror drawing covers the middle part of the page, with semicircular blobs in purple and pink ballpoint been surrounded by solid dark green.

KP and I did a duo mirror drawing in the evening. Fun and hard. We then watched a documentary about a NM sculptor which was super inspiring. We cranked the wood stove all day since it never got above freezing.

I didn't make any forward progress on the walker, but I've biked every day. My legs are getting stronger slowly.

A picture of a popcorn kernel in ballpoint pen with Popcorn craving satisfied written underneath.

The background of the page is solid yellow.

Sunshine

Beautiful sunshiny Sunday. Cold, but not as cold as yesterday. Been mostly doing drawing and coloring today after my morning bath. The snow is already half melted. Last night I finished Susanna Clarke's Pirinesi. Could not put it down. I'm digging fantastical novels without battles/violence (so overdone and boring). Feeling somewhat normal today - very minimal pain. It's awesome - I cherish these days. The past few days it's been a lost easier to get up - am I finally turning a micro corner. It also occurs to me that for the first time in ages I have an appetite. This is huge. I also really want to back some savory scones (and eat them all nonstop) :)

12 Jan 2026 - Day 99

12 Jan 2026 - Day 99 - 4 Steps

Woke up super stiff and creaky. Is it the humidity or something else? Or just creaky. Only 4 steps, but still biking. Up to 15 minutes a day which feels really good.

The normal moments are pure joy. I am trading my daily spelling bee time with creative time because the brain fog is gone. Thank goodness for spelling bee though. Kept the brain working when I didn't have the energy to do anything else.

It's the small things that see you through!

The background of the page has a swirly line draw in black ballpoint pen. In certain closed off shapes are orange blobs. The middle of the page has a green upside down comma shaped blob with ballpoint squiggly line drawn inside. There is also a purple ink splatter running diagonally in the upper center of the page.

What is normal?

This is the question of the now. Appetite, sleep, creative spirit, mental spirit, relative lack of pain, morning work time, games at night, making dinner and baked goods, engaging at or above 90% most days. It's a feedback mechanism is what normalcy is currently. More normal the day is the better the mood is, the happier I feel, the more art I can get done, the better partner I can be, etc. etc. It feels so good to be in a more normal place today. Tomorrow is another day. Never thought I would be celebrating normal so ferociously. Yay! Woot! Hellya! Fuck yes! Vamos - let's go!

The background of the page has a large solid green ball with an eagle like eye slit at the top of the ball. There are vertical black ballpoint pen lines completely surrounding the ball.
