Nix/86 - Day 16

ALT TEXT - DAY 16

Finally, a few steps again. Just enough to get up and moving again - one day at a time. I managed to get a blog post done for the first time in ages - really need to get into a better habit of writing for it.

I had counseling in the afternoon. Definitely helping with current struggles. Trying to wrap my head and body around my new reality. We talked about connection and/or lack thereof with others. Definitely a major theme in and out of therapy. A plague of disconnected.

Dump day drama - Day 17 - 0 Steps - 10/10 no assist

Today is dump day. We haul our garbage 1-2x per month. KP loaded up the freshly fixed truck and it didn't start. Called AAA for a jump because our starter wasn't working. Truck reboot success. KP then went to the dump - unloaded it without turning the truck off and then hi-tailed it to O'Reilly to get a new battery. Turns out I hadn't replaced the battery in 8 years. It was drama we didn't need, especially given all the truck drama last week. Now I have a reminder in my calendar to check the battery status in 3 years.

Day 18 - 8 Steps - 11/11 no assist

Back on the walker briefly. Felt ok. Sick of hurting - talking about hurting - feeling pain - etc. Late morning appt with Dr. Upping meds to max dose. If I don't see improvement in 2 months we're gonna switch meds. Hoping for a little relief soon.

Later I had art meet with Rebecca. She made pumpkin dog treats. I worked on catching up on this project. We chit-chatted and worked our mojo. Short meet-up so didn't get much accomplished. Lots of chatting about their impending puppy adoption and puppy proofing their house. Looking forward to all the pics ahead.

Currently reading The Talisman and is it a slog. The writing and story are good, but loooonnngg-winded. It's a good mix of fantasy and horrorible.
