kiri on the groove bomb

this site:

As of late 2010 this site will focus on my self-directed MFA program. We shall see what that entails exactly as it unfolds…

It may also investigate, ponder, and pub/re-publishes links and other ephemera about the following topics:
art in pdx and around the world, science, intersection of art/science, cephalopods, design, volcanoes, stuff that inspires, personal diary, news, creativity, Kiri Hargie Mixed Media Art & Design work, and anything else interesting, weird, useful, or otherwise.

This website has been around in one incarnation or another since 28 February 1995. Yes. Really.

this Hargie:

Kirstin Hargie (aka Kiri)
b. 13 March 1970, Evanston, IL

Kiri received her B.S in Biology from Clarkson University and has studied sculpture, electronic art, illustration, and animation at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, NY, and Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, OR. She is a graduate of the Interactive Art and Entertainment programme of the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab in Toronto, ON Canada.

Statement:
Whether automatic writing, sculpting, animating, photographing, drawing, or moshing media interactively, I obsessively collage the minutiae of life’s adventures to tell stories of the extraordinary ordinary. As a consummate world traveler I am compelled to share these stories. Everyone has one and everything about the process of getting people to tell their stories, and allowing me to relate them in various forms, drives my daily mantra of: live, love, learn, create, travel, teach, explore, leave ripples, go man go!

Kiri currently lives and works in Portland, OR.
