Day 21-30

5 March 2019 – 21/100

Three weeks in at a snails pace. The reaching around of subtle changes makes each day a new surprise.

J’aime les escargots!

6 March 2019 – 22/100

I don’t know whether it’s a placebo effect or the luddite brain (or something else entirely), but every time I read a paper book my brain becomes delightfully overstimulated and my dreams go back to their surreal and vivid past state. I like it, I love it, I want more of it! And speaking of wanting more… I have been making the most delicious effin food lately.

Thinking about: Walking. Why walking helps us think. Or maybe you prefer to contemplate what we do when we walk.

Spice kissed Masoor Dal with homemade naan, bok choi with carrot, pickled red cabbage, cucumber, and coconut yoghurt (yes it looks like ‘that’ :-/ )

Hacking the morning routine again. Coffee-Journal-Taiso-Walk-Work. We’ll see how this settles.

Friends: Vegan American comfort food cook-off Round 2. We had vegan mac and cheese with two types of nut-based cheese, and Cherry Chipotle BBQ pulled jackfruit sandwiches with a red cabbage & carrot avacado slaw. I had seconds (below) all stacked on top of each other.

Movie: Hanna I enjoy the Chemical Brothers, but the soundtrack to this movie annoyed me. The almost laughable “evil” droogs were led by a red-haired bad southern accented Cate Blanchett.

1/4 of the way to 100! Like a breath of fresh air at sunset…

Book: Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change by Elizabeth Kolbert

Thinking about: Are you Amazon, Apple, or Google? Are we on the cusp of Oryx and Crake yet? Amazon is already getting into the home business in a big way.

10 March 2019 – 26/100

Inspiring: Bauhaus treatments of familiar logos…

PDX -> SEA -> KEF

11 March 2019 – 27/100

12 March 2019 – 28/100

For the love of Thor, when you’re traveling please don’t be this guy… nothing beats watching nature in action with our actual eyeballs.

13 March 2019 – 29/100

49. Soaking and salmon.

KEF -> CDG -> TXL

Long day of travel on very little sleep. I had a long layover in Paris and got to practice some French. There was also a bus strike when I arrived in Berlin. German efficiency had a shuttle to the U-bahn ready to roll. Still got the navigating any and all new subway systems knack.

Book: The Book of Joy by the 14th Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu and Douglas Abrams (Non Western Philosophy)

There really is only one proper thing to do on a lay over in Paris, baguette with stinky cheese and a decadent cake. Most definitely not vegan.
