NovHaibuno – 22

2240 Degree Spread

The waters are purged
waiting for the day to warm
from cold night in teens

The regular 30 spread has upgraded to 40. You have to catch your breath when the sun comes out or your eyeballs will pop out of their sockets. We wander through the sage and whistle to the hiberating gopher snakes. The bunnies run blindly away as fast as possible. There is no such thing as closure. The cold tingles and then settles into place and then disappears slowly as the sun rises. In the full moon the land is silver and twinkly. Can you write a happy psychological thriller? There’s always light at the end of the tunnel – except at night. We find laughter in falling in snow, and trying to decipher animal tracks. A beautiful bobcat dead on the road. A piece of a deer or a cow half buried next to the logging truck tread. We are agents of change for better or for worse.
